Intermediate Knitting: Seaming
Dates we meet: March 7 Day: Wednesday Time: 6-8pm
Mattress stitch produces a neat, virtually invisible seam that will give you the best finishing for projects that need to be seamed. In this class you will learn three types of seams: a horizontal edge to a horizontal edge (as for shoulder seams), a vertical edge to a vertical edge (as for side seams) and a vertical edge to a horizontal edge (as for a sleeve into an armhole). Note: there is homework that must be done prior to the start of class.
Materials: Smooth, worsted weight yarn in a light or medium color (so you can see your stitches); US7 needles; tapestry needle.
Homework: Knit two swatches as follows, using worsted weight yarn (in a smooth, light colored yarn) and size 7 needles.
CO 20 sts. Row 1 (RS): Knit. Row 2: Purl. Rep these two rows 14 more times. BO.
